Venus Williams vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova
Vee and Pavs played very solid last week. However, tournament in Stanford where Venus played had much tougher field of players than Washington DC where Pavs played. Both players are hard-hitters, so i believe this will be intresting match to watch. The player who will be more agressive and accurate will win this match and I believe that the edge belongs to Venus.
Prediction: Venus in 3 sets
Bojana Jovanovski vs Carla Suarez Navarro
Carla has done practicly nothing since her run to the quarter-finals at French open. I don’t know what’s happening to her.Bojana really loves to play on hard courts and she’s been playing very well lately and winning tight matches.Carla’s form is really questionable and I honestly don’t believe that she will beat hard-hitting Jovanovski. Bojana is much stronger mentaly now so the edge must be hers.
Jovanovski in 3 tight sets
Camila Giorgi vs Andrea Petkovic
Petkovic vs Giorgi. Consistency vs Flashes of brilliance. Giorgi has beaten Petkovic in their two previous matches, but I don’t believe that this time will be the same. Giorgi had some shoking loses recently(Dabrowski) and Andrea has some good wins(Venus).Giorgi always perform better against top ranked opponets, but I don’t think it’ll be enough this time. It’s revenge time for Petko!
Petkovic in 3 sets
Agnieszka Radwanska vs Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova
This should be intersting. Out-of-form Radwanska against in-form Strycova.Radwanska was performing very bad recently, making a lot of errors and, of cours, small number of winners. It’s always bad when defensive player makes so much unforced errors.Barbora is not an easy opponet. Radwanska must play very well to beat Barbora because she will use Aga’s luck of power to go to the net every time she can. Aga must play agressive and consistent if she thinks to beat Barbora. This will be showdown of two trick-shoters and I believe that Strycova will be the one who is winning.
Barbora in 3 tight sets
