Analysis of the semi-finals:
~Caroline Wozniacki beaten Shuai Peng 7:6(1) 4:3(ret.). Shuai retired from her semi-final match because of the heat illness. It was heartbreaking to watch Peng struggling on the court. I heard she’s fine now and that’s relief for me. However, it was good match from both players. Wozniacki showed that she’s a great person and player. She really showed compassion and respect to her opponent. Well done Caro for reaching US Open 2014 final! Well done Peng for never giving up! 🙂
~Serena Williams beaten Ekaterina Makarova 6:1 6:3. Serena played absolutely amazing. She was in her ‘beast mode’ and I’m really surprised that Makarova( even thought she played great too) managed to win 4 games. Serena really wants this title. You can feel desire in her. Well done Serena for reaching US Open 2014 final. Well done Makarova for great battle! 🙂

Serena Williams vs Caroline Wozniacki
Two very good friends will fight for the title at this year’s US Open. Serena played amazing in all of her matches. She didn’t drop a set in any of them. In fact, she didn’t drop more than 3 games in any of her matches. Caroline played amazing too. She wasn’t on her best in her first rounds( against Rybarikova and Sasnovich), but she played absolutely amazing in her other matches. Serena will control the game with her powerful groundstrokes and serves. Caroline will chase down everything she can and she’ll try to counter Serena’s powerful shots. Both players have a good serve, especially Serena, so it will be very important factor in this match. Wozniacki will play aggressive, but not too risky. Both players wants this title, but you can really feel Serena’s desire in her matches. Caroline will fight till the end, but this is Serena’s title.
Prediction: Serena in 2 tight sets

That’s interesting. I thought you will say that Serena will beat Caroline in 3 sets, and the sets will be very tight.
I’ll say the same thing like you: Serena will defeat Caroline in 2 sets, but one will be tight and one easy.
Btw: Martina Hingis/Flavia Pennetta vs Ekaterina Makarova/Elena Vesnina was a very good match. I’m sorry because Martina loses the match. But her game was amazing. If she want to return in wta I guess she will defeat a lot of players from top 30.
p.s: because it’s a wta blog, why you don’t predict also „doubles“?

I’m sorry. I really wanted to write about doubles final, but I just don’t have enough time. I have to study now. I watched doubles final and it was a great match. Martina played really well. I’m hoping that she’ll start to play singles again, but I’m not convinced in that. Like I said, I don’t have enough time, so I’ll be focused just on single matches. But I promise you, I’ll do some doubles predictions in future. 🙂
