Moscow 2014 – Finals

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Irina Camelia Begu

Day Two: The Championships - Wimbledon 20140,,12781~13195285,00

Pavs played amazing in the semi-finals. She stormed past Katerina Siniakova, losing only 4 games in that match. Irina was even more impressive. She beaten in-form Czech Lucie Safarova in tight three sets – 7:6(5) 1:6 6:3. When the tournament started I wasn’t expecting these two to reach the finals. Anastasia is always unpredictable but she’s capable of having good results and beating top players. Begu was totally out of form entering the Moscow but she found form of her life here. This is tough one to call. Pavlyuchenkova is the favorite in this match but you can never know which Anastasia will show up. She have all the weapons to reach the top but she’s really inconsistent. Anastasia will control the most of the points with her massive strokes. Irina will play as aggressive as she can. She’ll use her superb backhand and solid forehand to fight against Pavlyuchenkova. This match will be tight, but Anastasia have the experience in this type of matches so I believe she’ll win title in her home country. 🙂

Prediction: Pavlyuchenkova in 3 tight sets

PS: Next tournament is YEC in Singapore. I can’t hide that I’m excited. YEC is my favorite tournament of the YEAR! 🙂
